- 1 onion diced
Barbecue Sauce
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or other favorite sweetener
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce vegan
- 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1½ tbsp liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
Prepare the barbecue sauce
Prepare the crock pot.
Set up your crock pot. Add a liner, if you use them. They do make clean up much easier.
Place the seitan in the crock pot.
Distribute the diced onion over the seitan.
Pour the barbecue sauce over the onions and seitan.
Set the temperature to low heat. Check in about 3 hours. The sauce will thicken as the seitan and onions cook.
Notes:
This serves nicely over rice.
Alternatively, make it a barbecue with corn-on-the-cob and air-fried potatoes.
Crock Pot dishes such as this work well for taking to potluck dinners!
