  • cups potato shredded and squeezed
  • 1 medium onion shredded and squeezed
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper ground
  • tsp nutmeg ground
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 sprigs chives chopped
  • ½ cup apple sauce served on the side
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for frying

Let's begin!

  • In a large bowl, add the shredded potato and onions, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, flour, and cornstarch. Mix all the ingredients until well combined.
  • Heat up a shallow pan with oil over medium-high heat.
  • With clean hands, take some of the potato pancake mass and form a firm ball. Then press on a surface to flatten a bit.
  • When the oil is hot, place the pancakes into the pan. Fry them on both sides until golden brown.
  • Take out from the pan into a serving dish. With a kitchen towel, tap excess oil away.
  • Serve warm with fresh chives and a side of applesauce.
