Let's gather the ingredients!
- 1 block extra firm tofu drained and pressed
- ¼ cup lime juice freshly squeezed
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp black pepper
Let's Begin!
In a small bowl, combine the lime juice, vinegar, maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper, mix well, and set aside.
Slice the tofu into ¾-inch strips and place in an airtight container or large freezer bag. Pour the marinade over the tofu, seal the container, and allow it to marinate in the fridge for at least 20-30 minutes or overnight.
Heat a non-stick grill pan over medium-high heat, add the tofu slices, and cook for about 3 minutes per side or until the tofu has browned and charred a bit.
Remove from the pan, brush with a bit of the leftover marinade. Serve immediately.
