Let's gather the ingredients!
- 2 cup dill pickles drained, sliced
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup water
- 1¾ tsp cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper ground
- peanut or vegetable oil for frying or use an air fryer
Let's Begin!
For Deep Frying: In a pot over medium-high heat, heat 1 inch of peanut or vegetable oil until a deep-fry thermometer registers 375°F.
For Air Frying: Set the air fryer to 375°F.
Spread the pickles on paper towels, then pat them dry.
In a large bowl, whisk the flour, cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, cayenne, salt, pepper, and water until smooth.
Add half of the pickles to the batter and toss to coat. Remove from the batter using a slotted spoon, letting the excess drip off.
If Deep Frying, add them to the hot oil one at a time, then fry until golden brown. Immediately drain on paper towels to remove extra oil.
If Air Frying, lay the coated pickles in parchment paper or aluminum foil before placing them in the air fryer. Air fry for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
Serve warm, and enjoy with family and friends!
