Green Goddess Dip (or Dressing)
Dips are one of my favorite foods. But I prefer simple dips! Even nice, serve with a little dip! This Green Goddess dip took me about 5 minutes to make! This is a fantastic dip to make when you’re short on time yet need to entertain! When it comes to dipping sauces, I believe ranch is the clear winner. I’m not a great fan of ranch dressing, so Green Goddess Dip is my go-to veggie dip. The fact that this dip only takes approximately 5 minutes to create adds to its allure.
What exactly is a green goddess? Green goddess dressing is often prepared with mayonnaise, garlic, anchovies, parsley, and green onions. The parsley gives this dressing its green color, and a dash of lemon juice thins it out and gives it a fresh flavor. This dip is based on the delicious green dressing, but I tweaked it a little to suit my tastes and to make it more of a dip than a dressing.
Why We Enjoy This Recipe:
There’s no reason to buy store-bought when recipes like this one are so easy to make! The Green Goddess Dip has a bright flavor — great fresh herbs, creamy avocado, and nothing artificial like you may find in a store-bought dip.
Serving Suggestions:
Dips are quite versatile. I like to serve this dip with pita chips or seed crackers, but you can also enjoy it in other ways:
- Use as a salad dressing – certain dips, like my Green Goddess Dip, may need a little water to thin them up, but they’re fantastic tossed with your favorite greens!
- Toss with boiling potatoes for a unique spin on the classic Potato Salad!
- Throw a dip party! Choose a variety of colorful dips to wow your visitors! Or, serve individual dishes of dips topped with crudites – these are always a hit at parties.
I hope you give my Green Goddess Dip a try.
